Abstract: | The aim of the study is to analyze the effect of HRM practices on job satisfaction at Hibret Bank
S.C. The study used a quantitative approach by using survey method to examine the relationship
between independent (work environment, recruitment, learning and development, employee
recognition, promotion, job security, performance management, and compensation) and
dependent (job satisfaction) variables. The study used a descriptive and explanatory design. The
quantitative data gathered from questionnaires and qualitative data gathered from different
documents. The target population involved in this study is Managerial and clerical employees
of Addis Ababa located branches and head office. Systematic sampling techniques are used to
distribute the questioner for a sample of 366 employees and out of them 349 respondents
returned the questionnaires. This study has applied descriptive statistical tools to compute the
data in terms of mean & standard deviation and also inferential statistics to generate correlation
and multiple regression analysis. The results show that Hibret Bank employees have a low level
of job satisfaction with respect to Compensation, PMS and Promotion practices, a moderate
level of job satisfaction with respect to learning and development, employee recognition and
recruitment practices no correlation with respect to job security and work environment.
According to the correlation and regression analysis result there are a positive relationship
between the HRM practices and job satisfaction in Hibret Bank. Finally, the study
recommended that Hibret Bank should develop and implement a strategicHRM practice to
enhance employee job satisfaction. |
