dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the factors affecting the job satisfaction of frontline employees of Ethio Telecom. Job satisfaction has been defined as “simply how people feel about their jobs and different aspects of their jobs.” To achieve the objectives of this study, observation was made and self administered questionnaires were distributed to 332 respondents and 282 responses obtained. These respondents were selected using stratified sampling technique and within each strata random sampling techniques took place. Secondary data were also extorted from studies computed and information documented in the company manual, reports and magazines in the study area. The data collected from the questionnaire were analyzed using statistical tools such as mean, standard deviation, correlation, and multiple regressions. The results of this study illustrates, the Employees were found to be most satisfied with relationships that they have with their co-workers, and least satisfied with the work itself and growth opportunity; and they have average level of overall job satisfaction. The findings of the study further elaborates that, the facets of job satisfaction have significant and positive relationship with job satisfaction However, demographic characteristics have insignificant association with job satisfaction. More importantly, the study discovers job hygiene factors have stronger influence than job motivators on job satisfaction. Besides, from job hygiene factors, work condition is the most influential factor on job satisfaction. Based on the findings of the study, the researcher forwards some recommendations to the Ethio telecom management.
