Abstract: | The number of building construction projects is increasing from time to time. However, it becomes difficult to complete projects in the allocated cost, budget, time, resource and others. Taking this into consideration, delay is one of the major problems in the building construction projects. Therefore, this research is carried out to make assessment on the factors leading to construction project delay in Addis Ketema Sub City Construction Office. This study conducted on the whole Addis Ketema Sub City Construction Office stakeholders. The research takes all Engineering teams, finance teams, contractors and consultants who are actively participating found in Addis Ketema Sub City Construction Office. Both primary and secondary data are collected to achieve the intended research objectives. Questionnaires were distributed to the whole employee of the office and actively participating contractors and consultants8 project sites. The data were analysed using SPSS. The finding of this study indicate that the top major factors that leads to construction project delay in Addis Ketema Sub City Construction Office were inflation in currency rate, payment is not provided on time for contractors and consultants, design change, conflict of the drawing and specification mistakes and delay in producing design documents and small number of architect and structural designer. |
