Abstract: Recruitment and selection, as a human resource management functions, is one of the activities that impact most critically on the performance of an organization in terms of achieving its ultimate goal. The objective of this study is to examine the assessment of Recruitment and selection practice on employee performance in the case of vision academy. The study used descriptive research design to achieve the objective of the study. Quantitative research approach was also applied. Data was gathered through questionnaires’. To collect representative data a five point likert scale is used and descriptive analysis with frequencies and percentage was apply during data analysis. To select employees stratified random sampling was used. The target population size is 350. To determine the sample size of each stratum stratified sampling was used, the least sample of 32 employees, a medium sample of 80 employees and a high sample of 125 employees was selected. Questionnaires were distributed to collect the data from the sample of 125 employees of the academy. After the data was collected descriptive analysis method such as mean, Frequency, and Percentage were used. The question during the Paper examination usually does not measure the knowledge, skills and abilities of the candidates. The academy does not provide equal employment opportunities as their selection criteria are not transparent. The researcher provided some recommendations in order to enhance the recruitment & selection practices of academy. The recruitment sources which are external and internal better be balanced. In order to measure the knowledge, skill and abilities of the candidates it is better that the exam to be framed and prepared by recruitment and selection committee with the guidance of experts on the area.
