Abstract: Education is a key factor for the development and wellbeing of a society. It determines the overall economic, social and technological growth of any given community. In addition to its developmental role, it shows the impact of cultural and traditional beliefs. Access to education is determined in a variety of factors. One of the angles that are very crucial to measure the success of education is to look at the gender gap. The success of education is dependent on its outreach and equal distribution regardless of gender, race, or background of a person. This paper evaluates the disparities of gender equality from the perspective of lack of access to education. It evaluates data collected with a specific reference of high school located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
