The purpose of this study is to assess the current practices of monitoring and evaluation at CBE. This study uses descriptive research design, a mixed research approach to explore the monitoring and evaluation practice in detail. Purposive sampling technique is used to determine sample, and the sample size was 38. Concerning planning of M & E, there are good practices of M & E except the absence of separate budget for monitoring and evaluation. In the process of M & E, finance, activities and schedule are checked at least once in month. The most challenges in M & E are lack of the right performance indicators, lack of expertise, and inaccuracy in data collection, failure to prepare appropriate data collection and failure to process and analyze data. The study recommends that there should be separate budget for monitoring and evaluation of all projects. Because the monitoring and evaluation plan have problem in design, ideas should be forwarded and there should be a committee who can evaluate and revise the plan. The plan should provide the appropriate evaluation design and appropriate performance indicators. The monitoring and evaluation plan should also be given to experts who have both technical skills and experience. These experts shall have the skill on dada collection and processing and analyzing the collected data. Further researches are also recommended.en_US
