Abstract: This study signifies the vital role and contribution of women empowerment that can play on transformation of Ethiopia. And also examine how effective women empowerment strategy can be determinant for social, economic, political, educational transformation of Ethiopia. Most of countries are all conscious of the need to work on gender equality and the empowerment of women. This is a positive start, but in practice it turned out that a lot still needs to be done. Economic activities are not the only vehicle for helping women to escape from poverty and advancing gender equality and empowerment. There needs to be a combination of activities in various spheres of women’s. The study analyzes activities in all dimensions which are done to empower women towards contribution for transformation plan in Ethiopia. This study asses what actions or strategies designed by Ethiopian Government on women empowerment to contribute transformation development of and the effort exerted by the government to empower women’s economically and the challenges in the implementation process. Attempted to answer the basic questions of what are the factors that contributed to women’s economic dependency, the effort exerted by the government to empower women’s economically and the Challenges in the implementation process. Women’s empowerment is typically discussed in relation to political, social and economic empowerment, but the economic empowerment of women has received particular attention and is often cited as one of the most important ways to promote gender equality, reduce poverty and improve the well-being of not only women, but children and societies. The intertwined effects of women empowerment in all parts of a society will be analyzed in this study.
