dc.description.abstractThe main objective of this study was to investigate the critical success factors for Enterprise Resource Planning system implementation inCommercial Bank of Ethiopia and Development Bank of Ethiopia. As a result, the researcher has investigated the implementation success by selecting managerial factors, project related factors and organizational factors. The study is quantitative in its approach and used descriptive and explanatory research deign. Data were collected from 82 participants involved in the implementation of Enterprise Resources Planning System at Development Bank of Ethiopia and Commercial Bank of Ethiopia using a censes inquiry. Multiple regressions wereused in order to analyse the study matter. The finding of the study reveals that all studied critical success factors under the three category variables namely project plan and vision, top management support, system package selection, project management, team work and composition, User training and education, and interdepartmental communication have a positive relation with ERP system implementation success. In addition, the study found that project management, team work and composition of the project member, top management support and User training and education have statistically significant effect on Enterprise Resource Planning system implementation success. However, project plan and vision, ERP System package selection, and Interdepartmental communication have not significant contribution for ERP Implementation success. Moreover, the banks should give due attention to project management, team composition of the project, top managements support and training and education which have high predictive value and significant connection with the Success of ERP System implementation.en_US
