dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study was to examine the determinants of employee engagement in the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, South Addis Ababa District. To achieve this objective, the study adopted a quantitative research approach. Descriptive cross-sectional survey design has been chosen for implementation and a self-completion questionnaire was used to collect the required data. Systematic sampling was used to select the target respondents of the survey, 200 self-administered questionnaires were distributed, out of which 190 were collected. From the total respondent majority of respondents who participated in the study were male employees (61%). Most of the respondents (46.3%) are working as ‘Banking Business Officer, concerning educational level attained, more than 95% of the respondents claimed to have earned a Bachelor’s degree (53.7%) or Master’s degree (42. 6%).The collected data were analyzed through descriptive, correlational, & regression processing using SPSS Version 20 software. The correlation analysis result showed that, leadership style, have a moderate positive relationship with employee engagement and job characteristics; training & development; and growth & promotion have a weak positive relationship with employee engagement. The finding of the study using a multiple linear regression analysis revealed that all the independent variables have positive effect on employee engagement. In this study, all of the independent variables found to have a tolerance of more than 0.1 and a VIF value of less than 10. Based on the findings, the researcher forwarded recommendations. | en_US |
