dc.description.abstractWork place motivation plays a key role for company productivity and quality. The researcher observed that the lack of employee’s motivation brings high cost. The aim of this study was to investigate whether there is any relationship between employee motivation and job performance. The survey was carried out at the head of St. George Brewery factory, Addis Ababa office. To this end, an explanatory design was used to test the cause and effect relationship between employee motivation and job performance. Questionnaire was used to gather pertinent data for the study. Descriptive statistics such as percentages, frequency are used to measure the percentage of returned questionnaire and also used to describe respondents profile such as their gender, year of experience in the organization and their perception on motivation. The Pearson correlation was used to measure relationship between motivation such as recognition, financial factor, job security & work condition and job performance. Moreover, measure the significant of multiple regression analysis was used to test the effect of motivation on job performance. When selecting sample of the study, random sampling method was used so that all member of the population has equal chance of being included in the sample. The results of the study indicate that motivational factors of recognition and financial factor have positive effect on job performance. The study recommends that the brewery factory management should put its focus up on motivation factor of recognition and financial factor to increase the level of employee’s job performance.en_US
