Abstract: | The objective of the study is to assess non financial motivation on employee’s productivity at Defense Construction Enterprise. The study aimed to determine whether employee productivity affected by working environment, training, recognition and organization policy. The study was viewed different related theories such as: Organizational goal theory, Reinforcement theory, expectancy theory and Herzberg’s two factor theory. The research designs used descriptive and analytical methods. The total population was 400 head office staffs. Stratified random sampling technique was adopted and Yamane’s formula was used to choose a total of 200 respondents who formed part of the sample size. But from distributed questionnaires, 142 respondents has been returned and analyzed. Both primary and secondary data was used. Questionnaires were administered to the staffs’ respondents and interview was provided for manager levels during primary data collection while secondary data was used from the enterprise’s reports. 15 respondents were used for the pilot test. Reliability was tested by the Cronbach’s alpha and found 0.849. Correlation analysis was used to determine the relationship between employee productivity with selected motivational factors of; working environment, training, recognition and organization policy. Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) V-20 was used for analyzing data. The results were presented by aid of statistical tables and percents. The study finding that working environment, training, recognition and organization policy have influence on employee productivity. Finally, the study forwarded recommendation points for the enterprise to implement better working condition, apply skilled based training, job recognition and organization policy that improve the employees productivity. |
