Abstract: | Amongst the important function of human resource management, one of the crucial function is employee development through proper training, and development programs. Employee development refers to the capacity and capability building on an employee, and thus as of whole organization, to meet the standard performance level (Elena P. 2000).Effective training programs helps in constructing a more conducive learning environment for the workforce and train them to cope with the upcoming challenges more easily and in time (Wei-Tai, 2006).The main purpose of this research is to see training practice and its effect on employees performance in Dashen Bank S.C. The study has raised to see how the training process is managed at Dashen Bank, to what extent are training programs organized and guided by a well-designed training policy and what is the effect of training programs organized by the bank on employee performance as a basic research question. The researcher used simple random sampling technique and 200 employees were selected from Head Office to participate in this study. Questionnaires were distributed to sample respondents and all questionnaires were returned. Interview questions were also developed for Dashen Bank employee’s learning and development department manager. After the required data are collected descriptive (i.e. frequency, percentage and mean) analysis were used to analyze the data using SPSS version 20. Because, descriptive allow to use both qualitative and quantitative data as a means to determine and describe, “What is “of a topic, and inferential statistics tries to examine the direct effect of training on employees to improve their performance. The finding in the correlation analysis indicates all relationship between the independent variables (training policy, training need assessment, training design, training implementation, evaluation) and dependent variable (knowledge, skill, and attitude) are positively and significantly correlate. Based on the findings of the study, the researcher recommend the bank to keep constant review of its training practices to identify its effectiveness on its employee’s performance regularly. |
