Abstract: Emphasis on HRD results into several positive individual and organizational outcome. HRD needs investment in training, development and education programs. Thus, this research is designed to assess employees’ satisfaction with HRD practices in Ethiopian Intellectual Property Office (EIPO) and forward possible recommendation. The main objective of the study is to identify the level of employees’ satisfaction with: The Organization commitment to HRD, appropriateness of HRD practices, opportunity for growth and development, management’s guidance and encouragements and other dimensions of HRD practices. The research is designed as a descriptive. Both secondary and primary data were used in the research. A survey questionnaire with five point Likert scale is a main tool for gathering primary data about employees’ satisfaction with human resource development practices of the organization. About 118 participants in the Head office under Addis Ababa district were taken using systematic sampling technique as an actual source of information in filling the questionnaires. An interview was also made with officials of training and development team of the organization and document analysis were used to collect the necessary information. Data obtained were analyzed by using percentage, frequency and mean and standard deviation. The findings of the study indicated that respondents perceived the HRD practices of the organization are too low. Respondents also indicated their dissatisfaction with the promotional opportunities and the knowledge to gain from the work they do for the Organization. Moreover, majority of respondents indicated that they don’t think that the Organization is the best place to develop them. Finally, the study recommends that in order to raise employees’ satisfaction and commitment; giving employees a sense of purpose in the workplace, granting employees opportunities to act upon their commitment, and offering practical support to learning are very important.
