dc.description.abstractskill , self-concepts and motives of individual employees to carry out the activates assigned to him The purpose of this research paper aimed to assess of the employee competency level in operational status of Bank such as senior officer , officer and junior officer The research paper considered five aspects of assessment of employee competency such as knowledge competency, skill competency and self-concept and vale competency, trait competency and motive competency. Methodology used stratified sampling techniques through classifying employees by their position. From the total population 419 using the sample size formula of Yamane in 1967 the same sample of 114 were drawn the paper uses inferential statics to analysis data obtained through questionnaires’. Accordingly, the findings of the study revealed that the competency level in terms of knowledge competency were higher for senior officers in comparison officers and junior officers. In line with the skill competency level for senior officers were higher than that of juniors and officers. On the other hand, concerning the trait competency, the competency level of officers is higher in comparison to senior and junior officers. Regarding motives competency senior officers is much better since senior officers do have much exposure for the rules and policy of the banks. In nutshell, the findings of the study revealed that senior officers have more competency level than officers and junior officers. This implies that more training and capacity building is needed for officers and junior officers. Hence, the bank needs to provide training to officers and junior officers in the form of capacity building.en_US
