dc.description.abstract | This research looked at the Recruitment and Selection Practices and challenges at Commercial Bank of Ethiopia. Research over the years, has established significantly a positive correlation between HR recruitment and selection practice. The purpose of this study, therefore was to assess the recruitment and selection practices and challenges of Commercial Bank of Ethiopia. To achieve the objective of this study, descriptive method was used, self-administered questions were distributed to 100 respondents and 87(87%) of the respondents returned the questionnaires the respondents were selected using simple random sampling technique. Secondary data were also extracted from prospectus and other published materials of the bank. The data collected from the questionnaire were analysed using statistical tools such as percentage, mean and standard deviation. The result of this study illustrates, the respondents are moderately satisfied with the recruitment and selection practices of the bank. Based on the findings of the study, the researcher forwarded some recommendations to the manager of commercial Bank of Ethiopia to achieve to the interests of employees by improving the recruitment and selection policies of the bank and by creating equal opportunities to the employees and Commercial Bank of Ethiopia should conduct Job analysis to determine job description, job specification, and job evaluation. The researcher believed that conducting similar research works on other service giving sectors may help identifying established trends or relationships. The result of this study may help policy makers, practitioners and concerned ministry. | en_US |
