Abstract: | This study intends to assess the effect of using PRINCE2 for irrigation projects in Ethiopian Construction Design Supervision Works Corporation, the case of kuraz irrigation project. ECDSWC has been implementing this Project Management Methodology since 2014. The researcher focuses on to fill the gap by finding the positive impact of this methodology. This study adopted descriptive research methodology based on primary and secondary data. A total of 42 key informants were involved in the study. The data was collected online using Survey Monkey website and takes one month to collect. Meanwhile, the biggest challenge was people were not interested to fill the survey in the due time; secondary data like reports also used in the study. In addition, the researcher has reviewed a number of related articles, even though most of them are in IT projects and has learnt its effect in other industries as well. According to the survey result, the project efficiency is significantly increased, organizational benefit is changed, stakeholder’s satisfaction was improved and the green light for using PRINCE2 was so big in the future. The findings suggest developing capacity of project team members, engaging more young people in the projects as they easily assimilate technologies, to assess effectiveness regularly and try other project management methodologies as well and old staffs should welcome positive changes and use the opportunity. |
