Abstract: | Commercial bank of Ethiopia is implemented the balanced score card in all the districts characterized as a strategic process aimed at the development of an appropriate culture linking vision, service delivery, employee performance and long term goal. The main purpose of this study was to assess the practices and challenges of balanced score card in CBE against the BSC framework. This study adopted a descriptive research design to meet the research objectives. Primary data were collected by using structured and semi-structured questionnaire and interviews. A five-point Likert scale was employed to gauge the degree of responses. Twelve branches and head office were randomly selected form districts. A total of 388 employees were chosen from 1134 total employees. The analysis and summary of findings reflect the major achievement and challenges, attitude of employees and leadership commitment toward BSC implementation. The study recommended that Commercial Bank of Ethiopia should address the major challenges faced at implementation and pinpointed in the study so as to achieve its strategic goals |
