dc.description.abstract | The study conducted on the impact of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation on organization commitment. To address the research objective and effectively describe the findings from the respondents the researcher used Explanatory (cause-and-effect relationships) research design. The quantitative and qualitative research approach used through primary and secondary data collected from 126 respondents. Both survey questionnaires and semi structured interview were used. The study applied Stratified sampling technique, which is dividing the population into strata, like Management and Non Management (contract and permanent) employees. The data gathered through questionnaire were analyzed using both descriptive (frequency and percentage) and inferential statistics (correlation coefficient and multiple regression). The findings of the study depict that from the extrinsic motivation, Salary (Money) is the major factor that the employees were disagreed and the reason for leaving the organization. For the relationships between motivation factors and organizational commitment, intrinsic and extrinsic motivation are strongly relates to affective and continuance organization commitment and weak relations with normative organizational commitment.
In order to reduce those problems the researcher suggested that the company should provide improved salary scale, rotate workers within the department in order to have Varity of skills and facilitate new reward systems to encourage workers. | en_US |
