Abstract: | The purposes of this study were to asses’ employee turnover intention at Oromia Credit and Saving Share Company. As the annual report of the company shows employee turnover has become a problem for Oromia Credit and Saving Share Company. Oromia Credit and Saving Share Company is one among other organizations that suffer from employee turnover. Among a total number of 120 current employees in Oromia Credit and Saving Share Company 92 employees were selected as the sample of the study. In order to collect primary data, questionnaires were distributed to 92 employees and 85 were completed and returned. Thus, the return rate is 92%, which is quite good. In addition to questionnaires, interviews were conducted with the management of the company to gather data. Thus descriptive method of data analysis employed to analyze the data collected through the distributed questionnaire. The result of the findings indicated the trend of staff turnover is increasing. Moreover, the findings show as a number of employee intentions is voluntary resign. And the drivers are supervision, unfair promotion, less monetary reward and job scope. The environment and peer group relations are good at the company and that is not a serious problem for driver of turnover intention at Oromia Credit and Saving Share Company. Based on the findings, it is advisable that the company to implements the retention mechanism by revising compensation policies, giving leadership and good governance training to all level of managements/supervisor, assigning and promoting employees to different position according to their professional specialties. |
