Abstract: This study was designed to assess the contribution and problem of employees training practice on improving performance of commercial bank of Ethiopia west Addis Ababa district. . To this end, the study has gone through an assessment of how employees training organized & need assessment, types of training delivery methods, challenges on the training program and training evaluation process. Primary data were collected through questionnaire ,interview & document analysis . Out of the questionnaire distributed for 334 employees who were drawn in Convenience basis from the total population of 2022 employees , 300 questionnaires were properly filled and returned. Data obtained through questionnaire was analyzed using descriptive analysis mean,percentile,grand mean Moreover; the data obtained using interviews and document was analyzed by identifying patterns and themes drawn from participants own responses. inferential analysis were used to analyses Independent and dependent variable. The Finding of the study revealed that majority of the respondents acknowledged that employees training practices were conducted by C.B.E with some challenges and limitations. insufficient module distribution,infrequent evaluation of training results & etc Based on the findings, the researcher recommended the bank to allocate appropriate training need assessment, evaluate training results with time bases, Generally, the study suggested that training programs has to be strategic and systematic in order to achieve the desired performance.
