dc.description.abstractCommercial Bank of Ethiopia is currently implementing the balanced score card at all districts characterized as a strategic process aimed at the development of an appropriate culture linking people management, service issues, vision and long term goals. The main purpose of this study to assess the practice of balanced score card implementation in CBE in line with BSC framework and theory. This study adopted a descriptive design with qualitative in nature since to meet the research objectives by analyzing the immediate situation. Primary data was collected by using of a questionnaire and interview and a likert scale was employed to gauge the degree of response in terms of strength or weakness on a scale of one to five. The purposive sampling was utilized to select thirteen branches from districts. The analysis and summary of findings reflected major achievements and challenges, Attitude of employees and leadership commitments toward Balanced Score Card and its implication. The study concludes that CBE gained plenty of benefits due BSC implementation and its affect by several challenges. It is recommended that for bank to become more effective by address the problem faced at implementation in order to obtained various benefit from BSC system.en_US
