Abstract: | The ultimate goal of any business organization is to stay in the business with the optimal profit. In today’s business environment, Supply Chain Management is one of the most significant changes in the paradigm of business management that has the potential to make or break a company. Effective supply chain management has become a potentially valuable way of securing competitive advantage that enhances company’s competitiveness .This research paper studied the implication of SCM in BGI Ethiopia’s competitiveness. Data for the study was collected from both primary and secondary data .Primary data was collected through questionnaires and structured interview. Questionnaires were distributed for selected employees, outlets and consumers and interview was held with the SC Manager (Ato Zerom Gezahegn) and selected section heads of the department. The research was executed as a case study and used a non probability sampling technique specifically convenience sampling technique. A total of 284 sample population has been used for the study. Data analysis was conducted by applying descriptive analysis (Percentages and frequencies), reliability analysis, and Pearson correlation analysis. The findings reveal that there is a relationship between SCM and company’s performance, growth and competitive advantage. Even though, the company is facing problems in the implementation of successful and quality management of supply chain, the results show that there is a positive implication of SCM in BGI Ethiopia’s competitiveness. The results indicated that a proper and effective management of the supply chain able to enhance a competitive advantage of the company and leads it to improved competitiveness. The paper has value both to the company and the beer industry as it provides verification of the widely held belief of the value of effective supply chain management. |
