Authors: Agazie, Melkam
Abstract: The very purpose of this paper is to deal with the natural resource
management and conservation practices in giving emphasis on
community- based water shed management at Alekit River there in south
Gondar. It is a common truth that Natural resources are exploited and
consumed by living things for their survival though the utilization
mechanisms may vary from one to another. Resources management and
conservation practices system and community participation as well yet
not developed to minimize damages appear. To this regard there are a
lot of arguments that discussed about poor utilization and misusing of
natural resources with beneficiaries that require solutions at present
time. Related to this unless applying adequate and methodical ways in
managing the misusage of such natural resources and practicing un
healthy conservation practices a lot of damage and disastrous situation
will be resulted. Hence to find out certain suggestive solutions this
research based, at conversing on a following issues, analyzing the
existing natural resource management and conservation practices.
Examining the level; and status of awareness creation task to this
regard, and as what has been done up to now to improve the prevailed
practices. In doing this study the student researcher employed the
qualitative data collective strategy. Further in addressing the above
mentioned objectives, both primary and secondary sources of data
collection techniques have been used to conduct the research. On other
hand the result of this research believed to provide researchers various
ideas as an input for further study on the same subject matter. Above all
the research may give a good insight to identify the opportunities and
challenges in line with the issue of Natural research management and
conservation practice in the study area.

Authors: Teshome, Feven
Abstract: Consumer attitude influence consumer purchase behavior accordingly to
this theory behavior is determined by intentions, which are also
influenced by attitudes subjective norms. The general objective of this
study was to assess the attitude of Awash International Bank customer
towards ATM service. It is assumed that the study will provide basic
data about customer attitude. Both primary and secondary data were
collected so as to make to a complete study. Total sample of 200
customers involved in the study as a respondent. The secondary data
was gathered from the company records, WebPages, journals, and
books available in the library. The finding indicates ATM users are not
flexible with the ATM language service being afraid of touching wrong
button and have secured issues regardless of sending sensitive
information. It’s clearly visible that speed, familiarity and security are
important concerns identified by the bank management. ATM is more
match the customer need and want. From the major findings the
researcher can understand that ATM is more suitable than the human
interaction by giving adequate service and consistency. The exactness of
working transaction by an automated system is more precise than a
traditional banking system. In addition, significant numbers of
respondents didn’t face any failure during the process and it’s clear that
the bank gives the right service at the first time that satisfied their
customer as well as there is no gap between the company service
delivery and expectations of the customer.

Title: The Impact of Financial Institution Development on Income Inequality: The Case of Ethiopia
Authors: Kassie, Gebeyaw
Abstract: The study investigates the link between financial institution
development and income inequality in Ethiopia. Econometrics frame
work (analysis) was employed as a general method of analysis using
secondary data collected from national bank of Ethiopia (NBE),
central statistical authority (CSA), MOFED and EEA. The study
covers for 33 years from 1980 to 2012. The Engle Granger two
steps procedure is followed to estimate the long run and short run
parameter for the variables included in the model.
The empirical result of the study shows that broad money to GDP
ratio, GDP, credit and openness are the main determinates of income
distribution (inequality) in Ethiopia in the long run. In the short run
only broad money to GDP ratio is the main determinant of income
inequality. All these variables except openness and broad money have
decreasing effect on income inequality.
The policy implication of the result implies that among other things
government should motivate more for domestic trade than
international trade. It should be selective in export and import trade.
Government should create awareness for the mass rural population
about the importance of formal financial institutions. Distribution
and expansion of financial institutions from urban to rural areas,
Provide incentives, licensing and other important measure to improve
equitable distribution of national resources.
